Contact Forms
If you contact us via the contact form on our site, we will respond using the email address you provide. This will not subscribe you to any newsletters, and your details will not be shared with third parties.
Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data shown in the comments form, along with the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help with spam detection.
An anonymized string created from your email address (a hash) may be sent to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here. After approval, your profile picture is visible alongside your comment.
Media
If you upload images to the website, avoid including embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors to the site can download and extract location data from the images you upload.
Cookies
- Comments: If you leave a comment, you can opt to save your name, email, and website in cookies for convenience. These cookies last one year.
- Login: When you log in, cookies are set to store your login information and display preferences. Login cookies last two days; display preference cookies last a year. Selecting “Remember Me” extends login cookies to two weeks. Logging out removes them.
- Publishing: Editing or publishing an article saves a temporary cookie indicating the article ID. This cookie expires after one day.
